“I Did It” – Man Opens Up on Murder of Trader, Women, and Kids

Awka-Etiti, Anambra State, was thrown into chaos on Saturday, February 22, 2025, after a trader identified as Friday allegedly ran mad at the Eke Awka-Etiti Marketplace and made shocking confessions about multiple murders.

Eyewitnesses said the 35-year-old businessman, a native of Ogunzelu, Awka-Etiti in Idemili South Local Government Area, suddenly removed his clothes in front of his shop and began making disturbing revelations.

In his confession, Friday claimed responsibility for the death of a popular pharmacist and businessman, Samson Ileka, the owner of Sam Medical Shop and Provision Store, who died on Thursday night and was buried on Friday in his hometown, Ichida, Anaocha Local Government Area.

Shockingly, he also admitted to being behind the deaths of several children, women, and fellow traders in Awka-Etiti and other parts of Anambra State.

His confessions sparked outrage among traders, parents of victims, and passersby, who attempted to lynch him before security operatives, including the police and the Anambra Vigilante Group (AVG), intervened. He was quickly taken to the town hall before being transferred to the Anambra State Police Headquarters in Awka.

At the scene, security personnel were seen bundling Friday into a police vehicle while his shop remained shut. Items found in front of his shop included two chest freezers, the carcass of a bird believed to be a chicken he allegedly used for ritual cleansing, and other scattered items.

The late Ileka’s shop was also locked, while traders and residents stood in groups, discussing the shocking incident that has left the community in fear and disbelief.
