Hunger: Four Dead In Zakat Stampede In Bauchi

In Bauchi State, during an almsgiving practice, a stampede has claimed the lives of at least four persons.

Around ten in the morning on Sunday, there was a stampede at the Shafa Holdings Company Plc offices on Jos Road.

Our correspondent received confirmation of the incident over the phone from Ahmed Wakili, the public relations officer for the state police, who also said that things have stabilized.

He claimed he will get back to you with more information because he couldn’t talk about state security matters in a public setting.

The corporation did not release a remark on the issue as of the time this report was filed.
