The Accord Party’s governorship candidate, Admiral Usman Jibrin, has today received a massive boost to his bid following the defection of hundreds of Social Democratic Party (SDP) supporters to the Accord Party.
According to the decampees, their decision was fueled by the need to front a candidate with the technical know-how, courage, and wherewithal to strategically wrestle power from the Bello-led administration without succumbing to threats.
“We have in recent times studied Admiral Usman Jibrin and how helpful he has been to the Igala kingdom, and we feel the need to consolidate his wonderful plans for the state by working aggressively for his victory at the polls in November” said the leader of the decampees, who expressed delight in the visit by the former Chief of Naval Staff to Itobe.
Reacting to the statement, the Accord Part’s governorship candidate thanked the decampees for finding the truth by themselves, adding that his administration will ensure a redefined Kogi devoid of terrorism, nepotism, and underdevelopment.
My government will focus on youths and market men and women, whom I believe are the primary block of a society. I know your plights, and I shall address them when I assume office, God willing, he said.
