Heineken, Star, Legend, Others to Cost More as Nigerian Breweries Announces Price Hike

Nigerian Breweries PLC has declared its intention to raise the prices of its offerings beginning on Monday, February 19, 2024.

Lekan Awosanya, the firm’s Zonal Business Manager for the West, made this known in a pricing adjustment notice sent to its clientele on Monday, February 12.

“We wish to notify you that due to certain constraints, we will adjust the prices of some of our product lines effective from Monday, February 19, 2024,” Awosanya mentioned.

He explained that the necessity for this latest price hike stems from the need to counterbalance the rising costs involved in production.

“The need for this adjustment arises from the ongoing increase in the costs of inputs and our efforts to lessen its impact,” he remarked.

Awosanya also indicated that the company intends to honor existing orders at the present prices until the close of the day on Monday.

“To show our appreciation for your continued support and partnership, all orders that are fully paid for and registered in our system by 12:00 AM on Monday, February 19, 2024, will be processed at the current rates.

“Your Regional Business Manager (RBM) will inform you about the allowable volume of orders. Orders exceeding this limit will be billed at the updated prices starting February 19, 2024,” read the notice in part.

This announcement follows an earlier price adjustment for several of the company’s products on August 10, 2023.

Among the range of products offered by Nigerian Breweries PLC are Heineken lager beer, Star lager beer, Gulder, Legend Extra Stout, and Goldberg, to name a few.
