Hardship: APC State Chairmen to Meet Tinubu, NWC On Critical National Issues

Abuja, Nigeria – Chairmen of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have resolved to engage with the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to address the nation’s pressing challenges.

Alphonsus Ogar Eba Esq, the Secretary of the APC States Chairmen’s Forum and Cross River State Chairman, made this known to journalists in Abuja on Thursday after their meeting.

Ogar emphasized that the dialogue with the federal government would focus on critical national issues, including worsening insecurity, hunger, poverty, rising fuel prices, and increased electricity tariffs, which have drawn public outcry.

“The Forum of APC States Chairmen met yesterday to discuss matters of great importance to the party’s democratic values and the success of the APC-led administration under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima,” Ogar stated.

He added that while a meeting with the NWC and the federal government is essential, the forum is equally concerned about the recent decision by the NWC, led by Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, to extend the tenure of the caretaker committee in Rivers State, chaired by Chief Tony Okocha.

Addressing the economic hardships being experienced nationwide, Ogar acknowledged the widespread grievances: “Yes, everybody has a complaint. We are aware of that, and we are working to address these concerns during our meeting with the NWC and the federal government.”

The forum also lauded former Rivers State Governor and current Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, for his notable contributions to security, infrastructure, and human capital development in the FCT, though it remained silent on the issue of whether non-performing ministers should be removed.

The planned discussions with the NWC and the presidency are expected to focus on addressing the concerns of Nigerians and strengthening party unity ahead of the 2027 elections.
