Gov. Ododo Presents N582.4 Billion 2025 Budget Proposal

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has unveiled the 2025 budget estimates for Kogi State, presenting a proposed total of ₦582.4 billion to the Kogi State House of Assembly. The budget marks a 43.34% increase from the revised 2024 budget of ₦406.3 billion, reflecting the administration’s ambition to advance the state’s economic and social development.

Budget Highlights

The proposed budget is structured to prioritize education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, and economic growth. Governor Ododo emphasized that the 2025 budget is designed to drive job creation, ensure food security, improve staff welfare, and enhance infrastructural development across the state.

“This budget aligns with our administration’s commitment to deliver on our promises, stimulate growth, and improve the living standards of Kogi State citizens,” the governor stated during his address.

Legislative Review

The Kogi State House of Assembly will now commence a thorough review of the proposed budget. Speaker Rt. Hon. Umar Yusuf commended Governor Ododo for fostering a collaborative environment between the executive and legislative arms of government.

“We appreciate the governor’s leadership in creating an enabling atmosphere for legislative functions,” said Yusuf. He urged heads of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to ensure full compliance with the budgetary provisions upon approval, highlighting the importance of aligning implementation with the state’s socioeconomic goals.
