Gov Fubara Is The Leader of PDP In Rivers State – PDP NWC Confirms

… Celebrates Court Victory Nullifying Purported Ward, LGA and State Congresses

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declared Governor Siminalayi Fubara as the undisputed leader of the party in Rivers State, following a critical consultative meeting in Port Harcourt.

The closed-door session at the Government House saw NWC members extolling Governor Fubara’s leadership and lauding a recent court judgment nullifying the controversial PDP congresses in the state, which had led to the emergence of Hon. Chukwuemeka Aaron. Following the court ruling, Hon. Robinson Nname Ewor was appointed as the acting chairman of the party.

Speaking to reporters, PDP National Treasurer Ahmed Yayari Mohammed described the visit as part of efforts to realign the party and strategize for a comeback in 2027. He emphasized the party’s commitment to unity, stability, and repositioning under Governor Fubara’s watch.

“We appreciate the Governor’s doggedness in stabilizing the PDP in Rivers State. This is part of our broader strategy to ensure that the PDP is ready to take over governance, both at the federal and in more states, come May 2027,” Mohammed said.

The NWC also used the opportunity to back Sir Ude Okoye, whose position as National Secretary was recently reinstated by the Court of Appeal. Mohammed reaffirmed that no legal hurdles exist to challenge Okoye’s role, calling for continued support from governors and stakeholders.
