President Tinubu Appoints Seven New Ministers, Names Former Sports Minister as Special Adviser
Abuja, Nigeria — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced the appointment of seven new ministers to his cabinet, signaling a commitment to enhancing governance in the country.
Among the appointees is Ambassador Bianca Odimegwu Ojukwu, widow of the late Ikemba of Nnewi, Sir Chukwuemeka Ojukwu, who has been designated as the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs. Jumoke Oduwole, formerly the Executive Secretary of the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council, has been appointed Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment.
The new cabinet also includes Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda as the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction; Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi as the Minister of Labour & Employment; Idi Mukhtar Maiha as the Minister of Livestock Development; Rt. Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata as the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development; and Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad as the Minister of State for Education.
Additionally, Sunday Dare, the former Minister of Sports, has been appointed as the Special Adviser to the President on Public Communication and Orientation. This role comes following the resignation of Ajuri Ngelale in September amid controversy.
In addressing the newly appointed ministers, President Tinubu emphasized that their appointments are a call to national service. He urged them to embrace the administration’s vision for irreversible growth and to invest their best efforts into achieving the government’s priorities.
