Fubara Dares Wike, Reverses Revocation of Le Meridien Hotel

Port Harcourt, Nigeria – Governor Siminalayi Joseph Fubara of Rivers State has annulled the previous revocation of the Certificate of Occupancy for Le Meridien hotel, a property owned by Ogeyi Place Hotels Limited and associated with retired General Anthony Ukpo.

The hotel’s Certificate of Occupancy had been revoked in December 2022 by then-Governor Nyesom Wike. The revocation was linked to allegations that the hotel had hosted a meeting involving associates of the 2023 PDP Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Governor Fubara’s decision to reverse the revocation marks a significant shift in the administration’s approach to property rights and political associations within the state.
