President Tinubu Dissolves Ministries of Niger Delta and Sports Development, Merges Tourism with Culture and Creative Economy

Abuja, Nigeria — President Bola Tinubu, during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, has officially dissolved the Ministry of Niger Delta and the Ministry of Sports Development, signaling a significant restructuring of government ministries.

The responsibilities of the dissolved Ministry of Sports Development will now be taken over by the National Sports Commission (NSC), which is expected to manage and oversee all sports-related activities and development in the country moving forward.

In another key decision, the FEC also approved the merger of the Ministry of Tourism with the Ministry of Culture and Creative Economy. This merger aims to streamline operations and foster better collaboration in promoting Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage, tourism, and the creative industry.

These changes are part of President Tinubu’s ongoing efforts to reform the structure of government ministries for improved efficiency and effectiveness.
