FG Announces Public Holiday for Tuesday, October 1

Abuja, Nigeria – The Federal Government has declared Tuesday, October 1, a public holiday in celebration of the country’s 64th Independence Day anniversary.

The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, announced this on behalf of the government, as confirmed in a statement by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani.

In his message, Dr. Tunji-Ojo extended warm congratulations to Nigerians both at home and abroad. He commended the perseverance and hard work of the people, assuring them that their efforts and sacrifices would not go unnoticed.

The Minister emphasized the significance of this year’s anniversary theme, urging Nigerians to reflect on the sacrifices of past heroes and draw inspiration for the future. He stressed that the Nigeria of our dreams can only be realized through unity.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo concluded by wishing Nigerians a happy Independence Day and encouraged continued commitment to nation-building.
