The Kebbi State President of the National Council for Women Societies (NCWS), Hajia Hadiza Muhammad Kola, has called on Muslim women across Nigeria to use the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr to pray for peace, unity, and progress in the country.
In a Sallah message to NCWS members, Hajia Kola emphasized that the end of Ramadan and the Eid celebrations should be a period of sober reflection, urging women to put into practice the virtues of patience, generosity, and self-discipline learned during the holy month.
“We congratulate the First Lady of Kebbi State, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Idris, and Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Remi Tinubu, for witnessing this occasion in good health. May Allah continue to guide and protect them,” she stated.
Commending Women’s Leadership and Advocacy
Hajia Kola acknowledged the compassionate leadership of both First Ladies, highlighting their continuous support for women, orphans, and vulnerable groups at both state and federal levels.
She also advocated for increased affirmative action for women, urging them to take on leadership roles and actively support the NCWS’s mission at both state and national levels.
“Women must rise to the occasion and uphold the National Council for Women Societies as the apex women’s body in Nigeria, ensuring its growth and impact across all states,” she added.
Appeal to Kebbi State Government
The NCWS Kebbi chapter commended Governor Nasir Idris for fostering a peaceful environment that enables women in the state to thrive. However, Hajia Kola appealed to the state government to provide the NCWS Kebbi chapter with befitting office accommodation and an operational vehicle to enhance its activities.
With strengthened support for women-focused initiatives, the NCWS remains committed to promoting the welfare and advancement of women across Kebbi State and Nigeria.
