Edo Governor Okpebholo Stammers While Presenting N605billion Budget Before House Of Assembly

The Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, on Tuesday presented the state’s 2025 budget appropriation Bill to the State House of Assembly.

But in a dramatic twist, the governor could not pronounce the budget estimated at N605billion, titled “Budget of Renewed Hope for a Rising Edo” as he stammered several times to the embarrassment of the lawmakers and himself.

A video of the Governor, struggling to pronounce the figure for the state’s 2025 budget, has sparked reactions online after surfacing on social media.

During the presentation, the governor stuttered as he tried to pronounce the N605billion mark, but he continued with his presentation despite the hiccup.

In the one minute 16 seconds video The Bureau Newspaper obtained, the governor was overheard stammering saying: “The Edo State 2025 appropriation Bill of six billion, sixty and fifty, six hundred five billion, seventy six thousand, seventy six million, seventy six… Let me take it again.

“Five hundred six billion, six hundred and five billion sorry, seven hundred, seventy six billion, sorry. It is confusing me noise echo!!! Ok six …” The Speaker intervened and said “order the house please, Mr speaker must be heard in silence please”.

Governor continued after silence “… six hundred and five billion and details of the budget propose, propose, proposal for your co-suggestion, consideration and approval thank you for your kind consideration.”
