In what would be another hard-stance, United States President-elect Donald Trump said in an interview aired Sunday he would “have to” deport all undocumented immigrants in the US.
He said this during NBC’s “Meet the Press” just as he doubled down on his campaign promises which included ending birthright citizenship.
The programme, moderated by Kristen Welker, touched on just about every major policy he has proposed for his second term, including imposing new tariffs, tackling inflation and mass deportations.
This was Trump’s first network interview since defeating Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election, giving people the clearest idea yet of how he plans to govern once he takes office.
According to NBC News, Trump also said he would end birthright citizenship. “If we can, through executive action,” he stated, calling the policy “ridiculous.”
He opined that he might use executive action on his first day but also mentioned the possibility of a constitutional amendment. “We have to end it,” Trump said.
In what can be termed as his first official interview after the November election, he stressed plans to end birthright citizenship.

Trump also threatened to leave NATO “absolutely” if allies didn’t “pay their bills.”
“They have to pay their bills,” Trump told reporters,” saying he would “absolutely” consider taking the United States out of the alliance unless members are “treating us fairly.”
Trump has been stating hard positions since he got elected for a second non-consecutive term as the President of the United States.
