Convicted Billionaire Kidnapper Evans Seeks Plea Bargain

Convicted billionaire kidnap kingpin Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, known as Evans, has sought a plea bargain in his ongoing legal battles. Evans, along with his co-defendant Joseph Emeka, is facing charges including murder and attempted kidnapping. The Lagos State High Court in Ikeja was informed of this development by the state prosecution counsel, Mr. Yusuf Sule, on Thursday.

The defendants are set to be re-arraigned on amended charges comprising five counts, which include murder, attempted murder, conspiracy to commit a felony, and kidnapping. During the session, Sule mentioned that while the case was scheduled for re-arraignment, Evans and his co-defendant had applied for a plea bargain.

The terms of the plea bargain are currently under review by the Attorney-General of Lagos State, Mr. Lawal Pedro (SAN). This development indicates a potential shift in the proceedings, as the court and the prosecution consider the implications and terms of the proposed plea deal.
