The Council of the Chartered Institute of Forensics and Certified Fraud Investigators of Nigeria (CIFCFIN) has ratified Dr. Isa Salifu’s appointment as the official Registrar General and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the institute.
Salifu, who initially took the helm in an interim capacity in 2023, received confirmation during a special council meeting convened on Sunday.
The announcement highlighted that Salifu’s confirmation aims to bolster the institute’s stability and fulfill its mission to combat fraud and corruption in Nigeria through advanced forensic methodologies and expertise.
“CIFCFIN stands as the sole professional entity endowed with a comprehensive mandate to foster and enhance forensic investigation practices across various sectors in Nigeria. Under its new leadership, the institute looks forward to fostering an environment conducive to this mission,” the statement read.
The newly confirmed Registrar boasts an extensive and distinguished background as a professional, banker, tax consultant, certified forensic expert, and management consultant, marked by varied managerial, educational, professional, and career accomplishments.
Salifu is an alumnus of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, holding a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Accounting, a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA), and a Master in Science (MSc) in Technology, Innovation, and Development of SMEs from both Ahmadu Bello University and Ogun State University Ago Iwoye. He also earned a PhD in Security and Strategic Studies from Nassarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK).
His career trajectory includes significant positions such as Deputy General Manager, Corporate Banking for the North Region, and Public sector/Corporates pan Nigeria at EcoBank Nigeria Limited. Salifu has also held leadership roles in New Africa Merchant Bank, Inter City Bank, Diamond Bank, City Express Bank, and Afribank PLC (MainStreet Bank), ranging from Branch Manager to Acting Executive Director North.
Salifu is affiliated with numerous professional bodies, holding certifications such as FCNA, FCAI, FCFIP, FIMC, CMC, FCCFI, among others. His pre-appointment career in the private sector endowed him with comprehensive strategic and performance leadership knowledge.
Currently, he serves in professional and leadership capacities, including as Chairman of CIFCFIN’s FCT chapter, a member of the Professional Training and Standard Committee of CIFCFIN, a member of the Education, Training, and ICT Skills committee of ANAN, and an Executive Member of the Nigeria Teqball Federation (NTF).
The institute’s announcement also extended congratulations to Dr. Isa Egah Salifu on his new role, urging staff and members to rally behind the forward-thinking leadership of the new Registrar.
