Charge Emefiele To Court Within One Week Or Release Him – Court To DSS

Godwin Emefiele, the suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), has been ordered by a Federal Capital Territory High Court to appear in court if there are any criminal allegations against him.

The former CBN governor should be released on bail, according to the presiding judge, Hamza Muazu, if he is not brought before an appropriate court within a week.

Emefiele was ordered to delegate his duties to Folashodun Adebisi Shonubi, the deputy governor of the operations directorate, by President Bola Tinubu on June 9.

The DSS declared Emefiele was in their custody for “some investigative reasons” the next day.

Emefiele filed a lawsuit against the DSS and the attorney-general of the federation (AGF) through his attorney, Joseph Daudu SAN, in an effort to uphold his constitutional rights.
