Buhari’s Tenure Marred by Numerous Manipulations and Fraudulent Approvals, Affecting Nigeria Today – Ex-Minister

Adebayo Shittu, a former Minister of Communications under President Muhammadu Buhari, has alleged that fraudulent activities and unauthorized approvals were rampant in the previous administration. Speaking in an interview on Channels TV, Shittu responded to claims that the government resorted to printing money to support the economy, suggesting that the economic challenges were exacerbated by misconduct by individuals close to the former president.

According to Shittu, these manipulations were carried out without the knowledge or approval of President Buhari, indicating a breach of trust within his administration. “There were a lot of manipulations and fraudulent approvals which did not emanate from the President,” Shittu stated, emphasizing that such activities were likely unnoticed by Buhari himself.

Shittu further accused close associates of the president and collaboration with the then Central Bank Governor of exploiting their positions for personal gain, thus undermining the economic integrity of the nation. This, he asserted, contributed significantly to the economic downturn experienced during that period. The former minister’s remarks highlight concerns about governance and the management of the country’s economy under the Buhari administration.
