The BRICS summit has adopted a final declaration that outlines the group’s stance on global affairs and long-term goals.
According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, this declaration summarizes Russia’s chairmanship of BRICS, assesses the current state of the world, and defines guidelines for future cooperation.
The declaration which is expected to be distributed to the United Nations as a joint document, reflecting the group’s commitment to global cooperation and multilateralism, expressed total support for Palestine’s full-fledged membership in the UN.
It says, “The declaration condemns Israel’s attack on UN employees in Lebanon, and the pager terror attack of September 17.
“BRICS welcomes the creation of a Haitian Transitional Presidential Council and electoral council to resolve the crisis plaguing the Caribbean nation.”
The declaration, however, expresses concern over the escalating violence and worsening humanitarian situation in the Northeast Africa, Sudan, and called for a ceasefire.
“The declaration criticizes the politicization of human rights, and double standards in this area.”
The declaration also highlights the importance of cooperation in areas such as: Health and Pandemic Response, Climate Change, Education and Development.
Overall, the BRICS’ declaration demonstrates the group’s commitment to addressing global challenges and promoting cooperation among its member states.
BRICS also expressed support for a “comprehensive reform of the United Nations, including the Security Council, to make it more representative, and notes its centrality in the system of relations between nations.”
The declaration further says, “Bloc members outlined their positions on the Ukrainian crisis, and took note of proposals for mediation to bring the conflict to a conclusion through negotiations.
“BRICS expressed support for Palestine’s full-fledged membership in the UN.
“The declaration condemns Israel’s attack on UN employees in Lebanon, and the pager terror attack of September 17.
“BRICS welcomes the creation of a Haitian Transitional Presidential Council and electoral council to resolve the crisis plaguing the Caribbean nation.
