BreakingNews: NLC, TUC Suspend Planned Nationwide Strike

On Monday night, the Nigerian Labour Congress announced that the scheduled statewide strike for Wednesday would no longer take place.

Following a nearly six-hour meeting between the Federal Government and organized labor at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the resolution was announced by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, and confirmed by the President of the Nigerian Labour Congress, Joe Ajaero.

The parties concurred at the Monday meeting that “The NLC to suspend notice of strike immediately to enable further consultations”
