This was disclosed in a press statement by the service sent to The Bureau Newspaper on Monday night, revealing that the crossdresser is presently being interrogated.

The statement said Bobrisky would soon be handed over to appropriate authorities for proper investigation concerning a series of allegations against him.

The statement reads: “In keeping with its commitment to securing the borders, Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) intercepted Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju otherwise known as Bobrisky at the Seme Border over an attempt to Exit the Country.

“The Service wishes to inform the public that OKUNEYE IDRIS is a person of interest over recent issues of public concern. He is undergoing interrogation and will be handed over to the appropriate Authorities for further action.

“The Service assures the public that it will continue to be civil and professional in its statutory responsibility of manning the Country’s Borders.”

The Bureau Newspaper earlier reported that Bobrisky was arrested on Monday morning while attempting to escape to the Benin Republic.

A source in the Immigration Service had told The Bureau Newspaper that Bobrisky was arrested by the agency at Seme-Nigerian border during passport check.

His arrest occurred just hours before he was scheduled to attend a Senate panel of inquiry meeting regarding allegations against him.

Reports indicate that Bobrisky was trying to evade questioning by the Senate.
