Kogi East Candidates Forum Disowns Endorsement Rumour, Emphasizes Ongoing Deliberations
Abuja | Nigeria | 11th June 2023 – The Kogi East Candidates Forum strongly refutes the recent publication by Faruk Adejoh claiming that five governorship candidates from Igala Kingdom have endorsed Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) as the consensus candidate. The forum categorically denounces this false and baseless information and urges the public to disregard such claims. The Kogi East Candidates Forum clarifies that the meeting ended inconclusively, with further consultations underway to ensure a well-considered resolution.
According to the erroneous statement that, Arch Dauda Isah Utenwojo of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), Onaji Sunday Frank, Dr. Elukpo Julius, Dr. Abdullahi Bayawo, and Hon. Muritala Yakubu Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) unanimously reached an endorsement decision which was a lie from the pit of hell.
However, the secretary of the Kogi East governorship forum (KEGCF), Dr. Abdullahi Bayawo of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP), refuted these claims, stating, “This is an attempt to frustrate the prospect of our continued meeting and deliberation; no endorsement took place today during and after the meeting. We are still deliberating on the way forward, and we will promptly inform the public when a breakthrough occurs.”
Dr. Bayawo further urged the perpetrators of this fabricated and inflammatory news to cease such activities, emphasizing the detrimental impact on the collective interests of Igala Kingdom and their aspirations for the upcoming governorship election in the state.
