BREAKING NEWS: KOGI 2023: KOGI EAST LEADER’S FORUM ENDORSES ADMIRAL USMAN JIBRIN

The candidate of the Accord Party, His Excellency Admiral Usman Jibrin (Rtd.) has been endorsed by Igala Stakeholder’s Forum as the consensus candidate of Kogi East (Igala Bassa) in the forthcoming governorship election slated for November 11 2023 in Kogi State.
The Forum unanimously adopted their beloved son and leader, Usman Jibrin as the sole candidate after a thorough scrutiny of all the he candidates from the region seeking to occupy Lugard House.  They noted that the educational background, experience in public service, network, leadership skills among other qualities are part of the criteria used to arrive at the choice of Usman Jibrin as the consensus candidate. They also noted that among all the candidates from Kogi East  seeking to govern the State, only Usman Jibrin sought to occupy Lugard House in 2019 but was regrettably sabotaged and skimmed out by some of our brothers part of Main reasons Igala Nation has resolved to throw their weight behind him this time.
More so, the maturity, humility, patience, pragmatic and quintessential leadership by Usman Jibrin culminating to the formation of Kogi East Governorship Candidates Forum where he emerged as Chairman guiding and leading our people while ensuring unity of purpose and direction with one voice is a testament to the capacity and capabilities of a leader who is ready to govern our State. The Accord candidate has also shown that he is not desperate for power but desirous to bring about enduring legacies and development of the State and as well stop the ploy to turn our collective resources into a tribal and family patrimony.
Kogi East Stakeholder’s Forum is impressed that Akpabana is the only candidate without any possible future litigations judging from the manner he emerged as the candidate of Accord Party and has equally not participates in any other party primary before joining his party, Accord Party unlike others who participated in both the APC  and PDP governorship primaries and lost leading to their protest and  litigation against their former parties before moving to their present Political parties. Admiral Usman Jibrin is a true son of the soil and also has to his advantage his Local Government Area which is the largest in Igala land and expected to produce larger votes.
The general acceptability of Usman Jibrin by Igala Bassa people and Kogi people at large is another favourable factor that led to the adoption of the Accord candidate as our consensus candidate according to Igala Stakeholder’s Forum. Admiral Usman Jibrin prides himself as the only candidate enjoying enormous support from Igala Bassa leaders such as former governors of the State, former Ministers, former Deputy governor in the State, former members of the Senate , state and  House of Representatives as well as retired military Generals, Commissioners of Police, captains of industries and many more.
However, the former President of ICDA, Alh. Abubakar Sadiq Amodu is therefore strongly advised to halt his ongoing plan for any zoning formula in the best interest of our people and the State at large. At such a critical time as this in the history of our land, selective zoning against the collective interest of our people must be avoided in order for us to present the best candidate who can stand the test of time as our governorship candidate and invariably win the election. No leader is a leader for himself but a leader of the people. The people therefore, has right to choose who leads them hence, it’s time for Alh. Abubakar Sadiq Amodu to show patriotism and loyalty  to Igala Bassa nation and stop acting against the wishes of the people and that of Atta Igala who had earlier asked him to step down from ICDA leadership and allow the Caretaker Committee to take charge.
The consequences and the danger posed by  the rebellious posture of Abubakar Sadiq Amodu and his dissolved Committee might cost Kogi East the expected victory at the polls should we fail to come together and support Akpabana who is the only formidable candidate that can defeat GYB’s candidate.
The youths of Igala land is nonetheless advised to desist from the social media bully, attack and insult on one another but should rather unite to achieve our purpose through the candidacy of Usman Jibrin. The youths should also understand that our elders and leaders deserve respect so that the blessings of God as prescribed in the Bible and Quran will be released upon them.
As for our dear son, Muritala Yakubu Ajaka, it’s time to understand that what unites us as a people is more than any thing that can divide us. Muri is loved by Igala people but they do not wish to take chances as it regards the forthcoming  governorship election while we advise him to be mindful of his camp already infiltrated by the enemies of our land.
Lastly, We call on all Igala Stakeholders, Admiral Usman Jibrin, Hon. Idoko Ilona and the good people of Kogi East to stand up and by every legal means defend our people including Hon Muritala Yakubu Ajaka from the inherent witch-hunting and attacks by the State government. Nobody’s should be coerced or intimidated to support any candidate in a political contest but rather allow the will of the people to stand.
In the same vein, we call on Igala legal luminaries, Professors and others to lend their voice to this historic endorsement of Akpabana while appealing to Igala Stakeholders as well as our father, the Akpabana to urgently defend our son, Muritala Yakubu who might have made some mistakes in the past. To err is human and to forgive is divine.
Igala Bassa land has spoken and must now walk their talk by mobilizing all our people and other Kogites to vote Admiral Usman Jibrin in the November 11 2023 governorship election for the benefit of our dear State.
