The incident happened on Sunday night at around eight o’clock, when the devout Muslims were performing their nightly prayers, according to the police spokesperson.

Nahum said that ”The male suicide bomber, who was suspected to be heading to the mosque, detonated the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) close to the roundabout, killing himself.

”Two passersby who were wounded by the explosive were immediately rushed to a hospital for treatment.

”A combined team of security personnel were immediately deployed to the scene of the incident to restore normalcy.”

As a result, he asked the state’s citizens to increase their level of alertness, particularly during current Ramadan when the majority of devout Muslims are doing late-night prayers.

Individuals should be watchful and should not be reluctant to report any unusual movements to the security officials, he stated.
