Boko Haram Bombs Damaturu-Maiduguri 330kv Transmission Line Again

Maiduguri, Nigeria – Boko Haram terrorists have reportedly destroyed the Damaturu-Maiduguri 330 Kilovolt transmission line, plunging Maiduguri and surrounding areas into darkness barely three weeks after it was restored.

According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the terrorists attacked the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) infrastructure in the early hours of Sunday, using improvised explosive devices (IEDs). Makama shared this information via a post on social media, explaining that the attack occurred around 2 a.m.

“The attackers used IEDs to blow up the facility, leaving Maiduguri and nearby areas without power. This is a repeated targeting of critical infrastructure by insurgents,” the post read.

This latest attack comes just weeks after the line was restored on September 4, 2024, following a previous destruction by insurgents. As of the time of this report, TCN has yet to officially comment on the incident.
