Benue Bishop Declared Missing By Family

The Asobo family from Mbagen in Buruku Local Government Area, Benue State, is sounding the alarm regarding their son, Bishop Sylvester Asobo, who has mysteriously vanished.

Mr. Theduis Asobo, representing the family, disclosed in a recent statement that their son has been missing since the Kaduna State Police Command announced him wanted for alleged blasphemy on March 5, 2018.

Bishop Asobo, who presides over the Kingdom Citizens International Bible Church, has been accused of repeatedly delivering sermons that were critical of a specific Muslim sect, leading to the police’s decision. Despite the call for his arrest, Bishop Asobo has not been apprehended, and no sightings of him have been reported since his disappearance in the Birnin Gwari region of Kaduna State on the date mentioned.

The family has expressed their distress over the situation, noting that any information regarding Bishop Asobo’s whereabouts should be reported to the nearest police station. Unfortunately, attempts to reach the Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, Mansir Hassan, for comments were unsuccessful as his contact number was unreachable.
