Akure, Nigeria – The Nigerian Army has reaffirmed its commitment to tackling insecurity, with a focus on eradicating the scourge of banditry in various regions of the country. This was stated by Major General Kevin Aligbe, Commander of the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), during the 2024 Captain to Major Practical Promotion Examination (CMPPE), held over the weekend in Akure, Ondo State.
Addressing the participants, Maj. Gen. Aligbe highlighted the importance of sustained military efforts in addressing Nigeria’s security challenges, which include banditry, kidnapping, and other external threats. He emphasized that the army remains dedicated to its mission of securing the nation and that officers must continue to be prepared to confront these threats directly.
“We must complete this fight before returning to the barracks and turning our focus to other matters,” Aligbe said, urging the officers to remain steadfast and continue rigorous training to be fully equipped for the challenges ahead.
Maj. Gen. Aligbe also called on the officers to stay ready for both regional and global peacekeeping efforts as part of their broader mission to maintain peace and security.
