The Allied People’s Movement’s (APM) governorship candidate, Arch Dauda Isah Utenwuojo, has today debunked the malicious and ill-fated publications making the rounds that the APM, alongside other political parties, endosed the election results that declared Alhaji Usman Ododo the winner of the Kogi governorship election.
Reacting to the news, Architect Dauda blasts the brain behind the baseless publications, adding that his party rejected the outcome of the election in its entirety. I’m surprised to see such a publication online; it’s the work of some desperate politician, and I urge everyone to disregard such claims.
The election was characterized by inaccuracies; it defeated the very tenets of our democratic practice. We saw how figures were unjustly allotted to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC. It was totally unacceptable, and every lover of good and sustainable development must condemn the charade that happened at the polls a few days ago.
We’re currently consulting our team of lawyers as we bid to make our decision public in the coming days. But again, I want to state categorically that the results declared don’t reflect the will of the people and therefore cannot have the endorsement of the Allied People’s Movement.
It’s obvious that INEC failed to deliver its responsibility; they failed to create a level playing field for the candidates, thereby subverting the will of the people. It’s a major blow for our democratic practice, and that stands condemned, he concluded.
