Advancing SMEs: Productivity Centre Joins Forces with Pan-African Association of Small and Medium Industries

In a significant step towards enhancing the growth and competitiveness of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) across Africa, the Pan-African Association of Small and Medium Industries (PAOSMI), led by Dr. Henry E. Emejuo, made a pivotal visit to the National Productivity Centre (NPC). They were warmly received by NPC’s Director-General, Dr. Nasir Olaitan Raji-Mustapha, on the 5th of March, 2024, sparking a promising dialogue on future partnerships.

PAOSMI, a leading voice in the advocacy and development of Small and Medium Industries (SMIs) on the continent, boasts a vibrant network spanning over 30 countries. Its mission is centered around empowering these industries, encouraging regional collaboration, and ensuring African SMEs stand strong in the global market.

The meeting opened up discussions on various ways the two organizations could work together, particularly in areas that would boost the capacities of SMEs. Key areas identified for collaboration included capacity-building programs, sharing and exchanging information, advocacy and policy development, and embracing technology and innovation to drive growth.

Dr. Nasir Olaitan Raji-Mustapha shared his optimism about the partnership, highlighting the NPC’s readiness to work hand-in-hand with PAOSMI. He emphasized the importance of building synergies between the two entities to foster the development of SMEs across Africa.
