Lokoja, Nigeria – The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Comrade Joel Salifu, has distinguished himself as an exemplary leader, earning widespread admiration for his remarkable achievements and unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people. One of the deputy governor’s notable accomplishments is his exceptional role as Chairman of the Committee on Flood. Comrade Salifu demonstrated foresight and strategic planning in managing the devastating 2024 floods that affected Kogi State. His leadership ensured effective preparation and response, significantly minimizing the impact of the disaster on lives and property.
Another landmark achievement is his success in resolving the long-standing boundary dispute between Kogi and Enugu states at Ette in Olamaboro Local Government Area. Through skillful diplomacy, Comrade Salifu brokered a peaceful resolution, fostering cooperation and harmony between the two states. The settlement brought much-needed relief to the affected communities and highlighted his ability to address complex issues with tact and fairness.
Comrade Salifu has also been a reliable representative of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in numerous state functions and initiatives.
