Earlier, El-Rufai was part of a delegation led by Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on a condolence visit to the family of the late elder statesman, Chief Edwin Clark.

During the visit, the former Kaduna governor emphasized the importance of a North-South alliance to address Nigeria’s challenges.

“There’s a need for a North-South alliance to rescue Nigeria from this present government,” El-Rufai reportedly stated.

He also acknowledged Atiku’s contributions to economic reforms during Obasanjo’s administration, highlighting his role in Nigeria’s past economic growth.

Political Recalculations in Kaduna?

El-Rufai’s engagement with PDP leaders raises questions about his next political steps, especially as he has been a key figure in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

With ongoing tensions between El-Rufai and the APC-led federal government, observers are watching closely to see if this signals a defection or a strategic alliance ahead of the next general elections.
