Bola Tinubu, the incoming president, has praised the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for its administration of the 2023 presidential elections.
This was revealed by Tinubu during his acceptance address on Wednesday, immediately after he was proclaimed the winner of the presidential election last Saturday.
The former governor of Lagos State stated, “I would want to applaud INEC for a credible election. We regard the election as credible, and international observers have likewise confirmed the election’s credibility.
With this election, Nigerians have built the world’s largest democracy, for which they should be proud.
Professor Mahmood Yakubu, chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, had proclaimed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress the winner of the 2023 presidential election.
Tinubu defeated Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party and Peter Obi of the Labour Party, among other presidential contenders.
