PoliticsPresidential Election Results: Labour Party's Peter Obi Leading Tinubu In Lagos State

Mr. Peter Obi of the Labour Party leads in the results of Saturday’s presidential election in Lagos, Nigeria.

INEC had proclaimed 17 local governments at 3:30 a.m. before postponing the tabulation of results until 10:00 a.m.

Nonetheless, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu leads in the local governments, having won ten Local Government Areas to Peter Obi’s seven.

Tinubu has won Agege, Apapa, Badagry, Epe, Ibeju-Lekki, Ifako-Ijaiye, Ikorodu, Lagos Island, Lagos Mainland and Surulere.

Obi has also won Eti-Osa, Amuwo Odofin, Ikeja, Ajeromi-Ifelodun, Kosofe, Oshodi-Isola, and Somolu.

Obi received 449,088 votes, while Tinubu received 416,431.

Only Alimosho, Ojo, and Mushin outcomes are anticipated.

The Collation Officer initially released the result for Mushin LG, but it was rejected due to a discrepancy in the number.

Former State Governor Tinubu is still forecast to win the majority of votes in the state, with results from Alimosho, Ojo, and Mushin anticipated.

Alimosho, the most populous state, may provide the APC Presidential Candidate an advantage over his archrival, in addition to his victory in Mushin.

Obi is predicted to win Ojo, a region dominated by non-natives, particularly Igbos.
