Tragedy in Bauchi State as Two-Year-Old Girl Reportedly Assaulted to Death in Ningi LGA

In a shocking incident that has left the Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State reeling, a two-year-old girl was allegedly assaulted to death. The incident was confirmed by the Public Relations Officer of the Bauchi State Police Command, Superintendent Ahmed Wakil, through a press statement issued on Tuesday.

According to Wakil, the distressing crime occurred on November 5, 2024, and was reported at the Ningi Divisional Police Headquarters.

“The lifeless body of a two-year-old girl was discovered beside a mosque on Deneva Street, Ningi LGA, showing signs of assault,” he stated.

Following the report, detectives were immediately dispatched to the scene, and the child’s body was transported to General Hospital Ningi, where a medical examination revealed severe injuries.

The Bauchi State Commissioner of Police, Auwal Musa Mohammed, has condemned the crime, describing it as a horrific and deeply disturbing act. The commissioner directed the Divisional Police Officer to redouble efforts to identify and apprehend those responsible.

“He also urged parents and guardians to ensure their children’s safety and avoid letting them roam unattended,” Wakil added.

The Police Command is appealing to the public for any information that may assist in finding and prosecuting the perpetrators of this tragic incident.
