Victor Osimhen Creates History, Becomes 1st African Footballer To Win Golden Boot In Serie A

by De_Eyes

Victor Osimhen is the first African to hold the record for most goals scored in Serie A, making him a historical figure.

Additionally, Osimhen is the first athlete since 2009 to combine that with the Scudetto.

When Inter Milan defeated Torino on Saturday night, his main competitor Lautaro Martinez was unable to make an impact.

Martinez has 21 goals and is unable to surpass that total, while Osimhen has 25 goals and is too far ahead.

The last player to win both the Scudetto and the best scorer award for Inter Milan in 2008/09 was former Sweden international Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Osimhen became the fourth member of Napoli to receive the honor, joining Gonzalo Higuain, Edison Cavani, and Diego Maradona.

The Scudetto was won by Napoli for the first time in 33 years.
